What is Saltidin?

Saltidin is a highly effective, broad spectrum insect repellent. It combines efficacy, positive cosmetic properties and safety.

Against which insects is Saltidin efficient?

Satidin protects against various mosquitoes, ticks, flies and other insects. Protection time varies from 4-12h depending on conditions and type of formulations.

Saltigo has a number of efficacy studies. Additional efficacy tests will follow were required.

Does Saltigo have own formulation capacities?

No, we work with preferred partners who have developed the registered formulations on our behalf.

Is Saltigo manufacturing and marketing own formulations?

No. Saltigo is only manufacturing the Active Ingredient and has no intention to sell own formulations in the markets. In some important countries Saltigo has registered frame formulations in order to help small and medium-sized companies to enter the market.

In general, formulations in the different countries are developped and registered by our customers.

Registration is currently available in most European countries. New EU-legislation will become effective under the BPD (Biocidal Product Directive)

When Saltidin has been listed under BPD Saltigo will register own formulations.

Saltidin is registered in most important markets like USA, Europe, Australia, Asia.

What needs to be done for product registration?

Depending on the authority insect repellents are either classified as
a) cosmetic product
b) biocide (EU)
c) insecticide (USA)
d) quasi drug (Japan)

What has to be done in case a customer wants to launch a new formulation?

If a customer wants to launch a product we will give a letter of access. Therewith we give permission to the  authority in the respective country to look at     the toxicity- and efficacy data of Saltidin.

In case customers want to launch a product based on Saltigo`s registered frame formulations, Saltigo will grant a letter of access.

Can Saltidin be applied to children and pregnant women?

To summarise the implication of Saltidin for human health, it can be stated that even long lasting use of large amounts of Saltidin containing repellent products will be without any undesired effects on the skin or any internal organ. Saltidin is also safe for use by small children and pregnang women. (Dr. Knoell Consult, Germany)

Can products containing Saltidin be sprayed on plastics and textiles?

Tests on various plastics and textil have shown that Saltidin does not damage those materials.

Can products containing Saltidin be applied on animals?
